Oh Cities…Sickening Cities, a big prison.
Living in a city can be good. You can get all sorts of things you need within a drive of 10-15 minutes. You get your favorite brand of ice cream in the near by kiosk or store. Or, you may be driving out a little out of your way to dine in the best restaurant for the particular food that you were craving for. Or, you may too lazy to get out, you can simply have your food delivered to your doorstep with just a phone call. It is even easier for you to get any of your red tapes or applications for whatever purposes done in a matter of days, because the headquarters are near your home.
On the flip side, it is actually a big prison, a prison that we do not know of its existence. If you realize, the only entertainment that you can get out of a city is, watching movies, shopping, gym, smoking or wat? Maybe sex. Aside from that, pretty much to it. Given that amount of choices, we will realize that we will get sick of it eventually, and so what is the solution that we came up for that? More movies...and Shoppings.
Recently, i went to Singapore for a short trip to visit my girlfriend and recharge my battery. I had been working quite hard for my projects. Guess what? When i came back, i felt even more drained out. The city of Singapore is pretty much loaded with Shopping centers and FnB outlets, just i mentioned earlier: When the people are bored with shopping, more variety of shops will sprout out to keep the people entertained.
Like it or not, this will eventually drive people to seek adventure in other forms such as adultery, prostitution or others to satisfy their craving. Or, some might even experience mental breakdown... or try to drown it by getting drunk every weekend...or even splashing their hard-earned cash on casino ....
My solution to that is to travel and do it as often as possible, as well as indulging in different kind of adventurous sports. What am i doing now, will be funding all my expenses for all the future traveling that will be done in the next months onwards. As this will be the only thing that drives me towards achieving my goals.
